Types of Side
Tables
| |
Side tables are known also as accent tables, sofa tables, end tables, and
sometimes sideboards. These tables are typically about the height of a couch and used to place desk
lamps, picture frames, bedside books or for decoration.
Side tables are normally composed of wooden materials and can range from square
to round or narrow to fat. Side tables can be designed to have a single drawer, this drawer is
large enough to hold a small book or writing materials.
At times, the table will have shelves attached to it as well. If the small table
is in a common room, it may have a phone book or other reading materials resting on the shelf.

A side table can come in a variety of colors. Brown, beige, and black are very common colors for
side tables. Consumers who buy side tables can customize them to their desire. When purchasing a side table,
consumers will look for tables that fit the room's color scheme. When buying a side table from the internet, look
at the design.
Will it match the surroundings of its furniture pals? If purchasing round small side tables, do you have other round tables to
match? Do you want a drawer to keep emergency writing materials or an emergency contact book in case your cell
phone gets ruined?
Side tables can also serve as multi-functional tables which is ideal. Can your side tables
double as a dvd rack or phone book holder? Do you want to rest your cup of coffee there while making it the home of
your lamp and favorite magazines?
Most tables purchased online will require some assembly. When purchasing online, read the
reviews to see if there are any clues about whether or not assembly is required. Some manufactures do deliver side
tables already assembled. On rare occasions, you might spot a wrought iron side table or one with designs that are
a throwback to traditional designs.
Traditional designs might include metal drawer handles or more intricate designs for the legs or
stand. Also, be sure to check shipping and handling costs when purchasing side tables online. Some
online merchants may charge you excessive costs for shipping and handling.
Choosing the perfect side table for your room shouldn't be hard at all. Just remember to
imagine it in your room and seeing if it will have furniture friends or colors in its new home.
